OLIVE, TUI CHUB - Mini Tube Fly (pair + 2 hooks)
The Mini Tube Fly Series started out with kokanee in mind. The orange and the white were found to be effective for trout. I added the Olive, Tui Chub to the site because it is one of the most popular colors of the standard size tube flies. The flash is predominantly gold with some red added. This pair of flies comes with 2 VMC #4 red Octopus hooks. You can use other hooks if desired.

The first place this fly was tried, Lake Davis CA, has a reputation for the trout preferring smaller trolling flies, it has proven successful there. One critical feature to lures is often size. The White Mini Tube does well when there are minnows of similar size on the fish’s menu. See Blog “Size Does Matter”. This Olive Mini Tube is shorter but more importantly it has a narrower profile than the standard size tube fly.
