PINK SALMON, Tube Flies
Pink Salmon run in odd numbered years in the Puget Sound. Usually August is the top month for fresh run fish. They are notoriouss for hitting pink flies and lures. The following are my Arctic Fox Tube Flies in UV Pink in two sizes. The larger fly is approximately 2.5 inches and the smaller mini tube flies are about 1.5 inches. They can be trolled or cast.
This versatile fly is offered in both the freshwater and saltwater sections of the site. All my tube flies come with plated hooks suitable for saltwater. This UV Pink has taken pink salmon in the Puget Sound, sockeye salmon in the “Brewster Hole” on the Columbia River, king and silver salmon near Ketchikan AK. Trout have eaten it on many lakes. Kokanee will bite this if they are the larger ones from Roosevelt Lake WA. This fly is another “Hot” color I would try for trout out over deep water.
UV Pink is the top color for kokanee but it also is a good option for “Pink” salmon as well as ocean run sockeye at the Brewster Hole in the Columbia River. It can also be used when salmon are feeding on krill. Sold with a pair of #4 red Octopus hooks.
Mini Kokanee Tube Fly, UV Pink. Packaged with a pair of rigged #4 Gamakatsu on 10# P-Line mono. Also a pair of beads included that can be placed ahead of or behind the fly.
